On the 17th of February 2019, the school hosted the annual Street Fayre. Just entering the school premises you could hear the joy that filled the air - Kids singing, laughing and chatting aloud. In the background a local band played songs that gave a nice backdrop to the entire evening. The air was filled with different aromas of foods, a slight hint of coffee, some barbecue on the grill courtesy of the Fenti Golf Course and tantalizing Ethiopian, Spanish, Chinese Cuisine and other delicacies from various stalls.
KICS is made up of a diverse group of people from all over the world. The street fayre presents an opportunity for all these people to convene at one place to share with one another the diversity of their cultures. This is done through food, dance, clothing and dance. This year’s street fayre was no exception. We had people participating in some dancing, fun activities and food tasting. Through the Street Fayre the school was able to raise a substantial amount which will go a long way in benefiting the community.
All proceeds went to the following charities Aghsan El Karma for those with special needs and Service Learning support for 3 local school.
