This is a tremendously exciting time to be part of the KICS family. You will be part of a dynamic team of over sixty teachers of varying nationalities, working towards laying the groundwork for a fairly new school that is the school of choice for families looking for an international standard of education for their children following the IB curriculum.
The school offers state of the art facilities and well-resourced classrooms and libraries, in addition to small class sizes. Teaching and learning should be fun for both students and teachers alike.
KICS provides a very competitive benefits package. If you are interested in a position at KICS please submit an application addressed to the Principal to email@example.com. Please include a covering letter, curriculum vitae with recent photograph and contact information (emails and/or phone numbers) of two readily contactable referees, one of whom should be your current employer.
I have worked in a few international schools in Asia and Africa but KICS is unique. My first impression about working at KICS is that it is a truly international school in terms of teaching and learning. KICS has a diverse global community which is very supportive. The work environment is ideal for any international curriculum and I think that the purpose-built campus is well thought out. I have so far enjoyed interactions with my TOK students at the IB center during my TOK lessons. As a Design and Technology teacher, I have also enjoyed working in our design workshop; it is a great makerspace for designing and creating products - an ideal ecosystem for students' innovation.
I think that what has really contributed to KICS being such a fantastic working place is the work done by the school leadership team - starting from the principal, head of sections, the amazing HR office, external affairs director and the finance office.
This is my second year teaching Reception class at KICS and it is an extremely friendly and positive working environment. The senior management team are very supportive and go the extra mile to ensure the staff are well looked after. The Sudanese staff are very helpful and are happy to share their traditions, language and culture. Sudan can be challenging at times but this only makes the KICS community stronger.
Working in Sudan, I have never felt more appreciated and respected as a teaching professional; by both colleagues and parents alike, the children are pretty amazing too!
Working at KICS has been a true blessing and privilege, often it doesn’t feel like work. I think what makes it feel like this is twofold. The first is the students, who have a genuine desire for learning and love coming to school each day. The second is the staff, people who are passionate about what they do and show this by being fun, caring, and motivated in their work and professional ethics. This culture/environment is unlike any place I have ever worked before and I truly enjoy it.
KICS is simply a great place to teach! Whether that has been the interaction with administration and their belief in your professionalism or the work with colleagues and the collaboration that propels student learning, the community of KICS is excellent. From the moment my wife and I accepted our contracts, the communication and overall integration into the KICS community has been, in my opinion, very intentional on the part of the school. There was great care from the leadership and staff to provide timely information and a listening ear to all of our questions. We have felt that the staff serve in such a way that life is made easier living in Sudan. Socially, we have enjoyed the inclusiveness that is a hallmark of KICS. As for the students, the reason why I teach, they are eager and energetic and make teaching quite enjoyable. The facilities of the school are functional yet beautiful providing a welcoming place in which to work. Overall, I simply cannot recommend KICS enough as a place in which to work.
